If you’re a fan of brick toys, you gotta have a list of favorite sets you really need to own, right? I mean, I know you do, cause I do 🙂
So, without any further gibberish, here’s my Top 10 Wish List for alternative brick sets as of March 2017:
1. LEPIN 05033 Star Wnrs UCS Millennium Falcon
At a whopping 5265 pieces, this is a beast! I usually don’t go for dynamic sets, I prefer static builds, like castles and scenes, but this is the Millennium Falcon…I mean, I’ve never slept outside the theater to see a premiere for a Star Wars movie, but that doesn’t mean I don’t love Star Wars 🙂 And if you’re wondering why LEPIN, well I wouldn’t get this set from LEGO even if I could afford it! I’m just responsible like that 😉
2. LEPIN 06022 Ninjag Temple Of Airjitzu
I love themes that are set in the past. Castle, Pirates, LOTR (exactly, who’s past is that?), you get it. I know Ninjago is not set in the past, not even close, but this just looks right, you know? The main reason I would go for LEPIN again is price. I’m aware LEGO aimed it at the AFOL audience, but I’m not a rich AFOL…Maybe I would consider getting it official if I could find it used, at a fairly decent price 😉
3. LEPIN 05047 Star Wnrs Ewok Village
Just look at that minifigure count! And because it’s one of my favorite scenes in the original Star Wars trilogy, that’s why. At around 60$ on Aliexpress, it’s also a very affordable large size set.
4. ENLIGHTEN 1313 Legendary Pirates (Bad Guys) Ship
This is no Imperial Flagship, but it looks awesome! Those ripped black sails, the way the purple blends in with the brown, all that detail…you gotta give it to ENLIGHTEN, they’ve put a lot of effort into this. In fact, on all of their 2016 new releases! Maybe they hired a former LEGO designer 😉
5. OXFORD BM 35216 Knights Of The Round Table
It may not look like much, but it does pack 658 pieces, they say. And it’s a Castle set. With 13 minifigures. And a lot of capes and helmets and swords. And did I mention it’s a diorama? Why doesn’t LEGO do something like this? Still, a little spicy at around 70 bucks…
6. LEPIN 16011 Medieval Market Village
I know, this is turning into a fake brand frenzy, but I can’t help it. This was probably the best ever Castle set from LEGO, in my opinion, and as a Castle fan I’d love to own it…even in its fake form!
7. LEPIN 16018 Pirate Ship Ambush
Well, it all started with LEGO, remember? So don’t even go there…This is just to great of a set not to have…If LEPIN were to make the 7048 Troll Warship, I’d put that here as well.
8. KAZI KY10000 M1A2 Abrams Tank
I’ve always kinda hated KAZI for their nice designs but trash-bad plastic. It’s just that this is to cool looking not to try it. Also, it’s a 2 in 1 set, given the rendering is correct you should be able to build a huge Humvee on tracks 🙂 The price doesn’t make my choice easy though, it’s a 60$ set, just like The Ewok Village. So, when I’ll have 60 to spare, that’s the one I’ll get first 😉
9. DECOOL 2114 UH-60 Black Hawk
Black Hawk Down is one of my favorite war movies ever, so yeah, that’s reason enough. The minifigure count is 4, don’t be fooled by the box art 😉
10. LEPIN 16001 Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters
Another monster! If I could get the MF UCS and this BMF, I’dd be very happy indeed. Not a fan of Ghostbusters, never seen the movie, it’s just for the build. And what an awesome build this has to be 🙂
So, this is my current Top 10 sets I really want to own! Do you have a list? What’s on it? Leave a comment and save clonebricks.com to your Bookmarks 😉
